We are a social running and triathlon club which seeks to bring people together to share the joys of a healthy lifestyle augmented by our chosen sporting activities and the social interaction that springs from these activities.
We accomplish this through group runs, group rides, social events, and club races.
We are a non-profit organization. In addition to supporting the need of our club members to race and measure their performance, our races raise money for local charities. ASAP (Adaptive Sports and Adventure Program), a Carolina's Healthcare System program created to address the functional and therapeutic needs of Charlotte Institute of Rehabilitation's (CIR) in/outpatients through sports, recreation and outdoor adventures is a supporting sponsor and benefactor of our Summer Breeze 5K race. The program allows physically challenged youth and adults to develop their skills related to leisure while enhancing an active and productive lifestyle, one without barriers and limits. For more info go to http://www.carolinas.org/services/rehab/CIR/asap.cfm.
We are a club of our membership. We can accomplish no more and will accomplish no less than the collective desire of that membership. Our officers and board members are challenged to channel the desires of the club into results for the membership. Any and all members are invited to join the board or a club committee and support our efforts to improve the running, biking, and swimming experiences of all the club members and anyone who participates in or attends one of our events. |
